About Johan Janssens (BE)
Steve Jobs once said: “Your work is gonna fill a large part of your live. The only way to be truly satisfied is to love what you do”. At age 10 Johan Janssens thought himself how to program a computer, in his early 20’s he discovered hacker culture and how by using the internet and giving his code away for free he could influence the world. In his talk “Program or be Programmed - On punk passion and pirates”, Johan will share his personal story. How he co-founded Joomla.org and how the code he wrote in his bedroom more then 10 years ago is now being used by 3% of all the sites on the internet. Johan will also talk about his struggles advocating for a truly open source government and his believe that through open source software and the power of sharing and collaboration we can make the world a better place.
