Steven Boeynaems is a molecular biologist at VIB and KU Leuven focusing on the molecular underpinnings of ALS. As a bioengineer by training he aims at providing new insights into the disease by approaching it from a different angle. In his recent work he tries to get a better understanding of the molecular cause of ALS by studying the physical processes behind the complex (mis)behavior of proteins at the microscopic level.
