TEDxUHasselt 2020 is canceled

Dear registered

It is with deep regret that we have to inform you that this year's TEDxUHasselt 2020 Hakuna Matata needs to be postponed, due to the rapid spread of COVID-19.

The Belgian authorities have advised canceling all large indoor events. In accordance with these measurements, Hasselt University decided to cancel TEDxUHasselt as well. We believe these actions are necessary for the well-being of everyone involved. We will reschedule for a later date which we, of course, announce as soon as a date is set. We'll keep you posted via our website and social media.

We apologize for any inconvenience caused by this decision. But no worries, we will soon meet. We already thank you for your interest in our event.

We provide the option to store your ticket request with motivation up to one year from now, that way you can claim tickets for the next edition faster in the priority queue. If you do agree to store the data, please let us know in an email to info@tedxuhasselt.eu. All other registrations will be deleted on 30 April 2020.

Best wishes and much love
Your TEDxUHasselt team

How to get there

By train
You can get to Diepenbeek Campus by taking the train to Diepenbeek, Hasselt or Genk and then taking a bus to the campus.

By bus
Diepenbeek Campus can be reached with services 45, 20A, 36 and 453. From the square in front of Hasselt Station, service 45 departs for Maastricht and Maaseik, service 20A for Maastricht and service 36 for Genk via Diepenbeek. A bus leaves for the campus at least every 15 minutes. A service 45 bus departs from Genk Station to the campus every 30 minutes. A service 453 bus departs from Diepenbeek Station to the campus every hour.

By bike
The area surrounding Diepenbeek Campus is very bike-friendly. Guests can reach the campus safely and enjoyably via cycle paths that wind their way through the greenery. On campus, bikes can be parked under cover and the university provides special bike locks.

By car
Free parking is provided near the building.

The campus has special facilities for guests with disabilities: there are separate parking spaces at the entrance to each building and a special entrance ramp (without stairs).

TEDxUHasselt is an independently organized TED event. A place where you learn about cutting-edge ideas and connect with interesting people.

TEDxUHasselt was founded in 2011 by three Hasselt University students and has remained a student-driven organization ever since.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group.

These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.
